The Lady or the Tiger?

Looking back at the post I had written several months ago to let all of you know what I was currently working on, I was reminded that at one time Earning Her Stripes was going to be called Earning HIS Stripes.

I guess at the time I had supposed it would centre on Griffin's story as he was the President of the MC, the wounded soul, the hero of the piece. While all that remained true to the end, as I was writing it became clear to me that Ideal's story was just as important and that maybe she had the bigger journey ahead - so why *not* give the novel a title that reflects that?

In a lot of the MC novels I've read, each one absorbing and full of drama (which is why I wanted to write my own) it's generally the guys of the club whose actions and motivations drive the story. I guess somewhere in the middle of writing about Griffin and Ideal, I felt as though she was just as important to what was happening so she deserved just as much to figure on the cover. The picture I found reflected perfectly the image I had of Ideal in my mind and now I couldn't think of a better name for the novel that sets the entire series off.

I was so inspired by the lady Tigers that the next two I already have ideas for centre around another couple of Tigresses - Medea and Nell. Of course the guys will figure heavily too, but the backstories these two suggested really fired off my imagination. I hope in every single one of my stories the female main character is just as much of a draw as the male protagonist - I'm all for strong alpha heroes but I love a take-charge heroine just as much. In the battle of the sexes, my guys and girls would probably fight each other to a standstill!
